Masters of Arts in Pastoral Ministry

 The M.A. in Pastoral Ministry program consists of 12 required classes and 6 electives and is offered at the main campus in Cincinnati.  The MAPM fulfills the prerequisites for application to Permanent Diaconate Formation Program for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

plus six electives for a total of 54 quarter hours.  Classes are typically 3 credit hours each, although some electives and optional workshops may vary.

Electives are available in a variety of areas including Biblical studies, pastoral administration and administrative ministry, liturgy, history, systematic theology, moral theology and pastoral care.  Students are assigned an academic advisor who helps with course selection and discernment.

Other requirements include mentoring, field education, theological reflection and the project in ministry.  Courses may also be applied to Archdiocesan certification or continuing education for catechists, Directors of Religious Education and Youth Ministers.

By taking two classes per quarter, it is possible to complete the MAPM in 3 years.
