Description
Position reports to the Director of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program
Purpose Summary: To share in the administration and planning of the Lay
Pastoral Ministry program of The Athenaeum of Ohio, including:

LPMP Events:
Participation in coordination, implementation and
evaluation of LPMP events including: assessment, orientation, publicity,
recruitment, initial interviews of prospective students, evaluation of
student applications, and assignment of mentors.

Academic Advising:
Advice and authorization in all aspects of program components including
maintenance of student records, consultation for student registration,
support and guidance. Conducts candidacy meetings with MAPM students,
convenes project board meetings, and facilitates meetings between
students/faculty/peers as needed.

Areas of Specialty:
In addition to ongoing administration and student advising, Associate
Directors typically take primary responsibility for one or more key areas
in the department. These would vary, depending on the skills, interests
and experience of the successful candidate but could include: recruitment,
publicity, administrative ministry tracks, spiritual formation, student
retention, pastoral planning, or the supervision of one or more degree
components.

Athenaeum Responsibilities:
Associate Directors will participate in faculty meetings, senate meetings,
Athenaeum committees, diocesan committees and associations as appropriate.
Associate Directors may teach at the discretion of the Director and
Athenaeum Dean.

Self-Development:
Associate Directors are expected to participate in on-going
personal formation and professional development. This may include, but not
be limited to: pursuing advanced degrees or additional degrees;
participation in spiritual direction, days of retreat and renewal;
attending academic classes, workshops and seminars; maintaining membership
in appropriate professional associations and attendance at professional
conventions and meetings.
