During the summer of 2008 the Athenaeum will offer the following courses. 

PA 415 Introduction to Clinical Hypnosis, taught by Dr. William E. Wester II.  It will be offered Thursday evening through Sunday, June 5-8, 2008.  Taken for three graduate credits, this course serves as one of the clinical content courses needed for licensure as a counselor in the state of Ohio, or an elective in the Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling degree program.

B 450 Tapping the Riches of Biblical Spirituality, taught by Rev. Timothy P. Schehr.  It will be offered 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. June 9-12, 2008.  This course will explore some of the resources for the spiritual life that can be found in the Bible.  It will reflect on the many ways God reaches out to us through the language of the Bible.

CL 421 Praying with the Saints, taught by Rev. Rob Jack.  It will be offered 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. June 16-19, 2008.  This course will discuss the nature of Catholic devotion in light of the prayer styles of St. Francis De Sales, St. Teresa of Avila and St. Benedict. There will also be an introduction to a theology of the Communion of Saints.

Summer Workshop 2008 

 

In addition the Lay Pastoral Ministry Program will offer the following workshop.

Canon Law for Pastoral Ministers, taught by Rev. Chris Armstrong. It will be offered 8:30am - 1:00pm on Saturday, June 7th.This workshop will provide an introduction to Roman Catholic canon law and is geared toward persons engaged in parish ministry with little or no prior knowledge of canon law.
