Athenaeum Alumni Association | Events |About the AssociationThe Athenaeum of Ohio is proud of the more than 3,100 living alumni who have studied and prayed at the institution. Our alumni serve in 48 states and many countries worldwide. They are priests, deacons, counselors, missionaries and lay ministers. They serve in paid and volunteer positions. They serve in churches, schools, health care facilities, social service agencies and mission organizations. Athenaeum alumni also minister through their roles as family members, neighbors, business leaders and workers. They are living examples of God’s call in their daily lives. Membership in the Alumni Association is open to all students who have graduated, been ordained, or completed at least one course sponsored by the Athenaeum. All are welcome as part of the Athenaeum of Ohio.
2006/2007 Alumni Board The Athenaeum Alumni Association Board is a viable committee that is actively striving to serve as a resource to the Athenaeum. They are directly responsible for planning diverse activities, events and programs to promote the Athenaeum’s mission and image in the community. One of their main goals is to promote student and alumni interaction, with an awareness of the value of lifetime relationships with the Athenaeum and former classmates. These shirts are offered for a limited time to all alumni of the Athenaeum for $35.00. The Alumni Board The Alumni Board is made up of men and women who represent all alumni of The Athenaeum of Ohio-Mount St Mary’s Seminary. This board meets four times a year to look at what we have done to stay in touch with and serve our alumni, what we are doing now, and to set goals for what we would like to do in the future to best serve our alumni and The Athenaeum. Mission of the Alumni Board: We the members of The Athenaeum Alumni Board, confident that our own years of education at The Athenaeum have committed us to the life-long service of God and humanity, dedicate ourselves to assisting The Athenaeum in its calling and mission. We see our ministry of service as two-fold. We are committed to serving the needs and interests of ALL Alumni; and we are committed to serving as a resource to The Athenaeum. Alumni Association Committees To encourage all alumni to stay in touch with The Athenaeum and to take an active role in the Alumni Association, the Alumni Association has established three subcommittees: Data/Communications – This committee’s focus is basically communication with Alumni. Committee activities include creation of a data bank of alumni and contact information and seeking alumni volunteers from each parish to be contact persons for alumni in their home parishes. Chair: Looking for a volunteer! Activities – This committee designs and plans programs, activities, and religious functions of interest to the alumni of The Athenaeum of Ohio. Chairs: Patricia Bergen and Chris Killian. Ways and Means – This committee plans ways to raise funds which will support the efforts of the other two committees and the Alumni Board in general. Chair: J. Michael Dempsey We need more help in these three areas. Please consider volunteering some of your time to help. Please feel free to call the committee chairs, anyone on the board, or Diane Carlson, alumni board liaison, at (513) 233-6159. |
